The rural poor have very specific needs based on their unique characteristics. Usually, it is not sufficient to merely scale down technologies that are suitable for more well-off consumers. Technologies must be rethought and reengineered from a poor farmer's perspective.
In order to facilitate increases in income along the entire supply chain, all of IDE’s technologies and products are manufactured in the countries we work by local manufacturers, distributed by local agents and sold by local dealers.
IDE and its affiliate organizations do not manufacture or export treadle pumps, drip systems, water storage systems, or supplemental parts.
